Change-out an expansion joint on one of the three turbines on Scott.
The other two turbines had to remain on during the work scope. So first task was to install heat blankets on the other two turbine exhausts to protect our workforce changing out the expansion joint.
Change-out expansion joint was then completed.

Worked with Total to devise an overall maintenance plan to change-out all ‘Failed or failing’ expansion joints based on BSV recommendations. This was based on planned shutdowns of the turbines so completed over multiple trips.
Changed-out c6 expansion joints (to date).

BSV were asked to supply materials and a Supervisor to work with local the local Ghanaians and the Chinese Main Contractor to fabricate and fit three Exhaust Expansion Joints for three new Solar Mars GT Packages being installed as part of a new Power Plant to provide a consistent and reliable power supply for the mines operations. The high temperature bellows were shipped by BSV from the UK and the steelwork was sourced locally and the frames fabricated on site.
